If you have less electricity than you would like!

In the summer there is a lot of sun, but in the winter the sunlight is present for a much shorter period and also at a different angle. This reduces the yield of your solar panels. Sometimes choices have to be made.

If you are in a location where there is no or insufficient capacity or unreliable capacity available, a generator is a solution. It is also possible that you sometimes have a temporary heavy energy need that your grid connection cannot or may not support.

If you do not have a fixed connection and want to meet your energy needs completely off-grid, you can reduce your energy consumption or start the generator.

A generator is usually chosen with a large capacity. The result is that the generator often runs under load. As a result, it consumes more diesel/petrol per kilowatt produced.

The generator in your system

If you use batteries to store the power that your solar panels provide, the generator can be used to charge the batteries.

You can start the generator yourself or you can have this done by the central computer. For example, if the batteries are discharged to 30% or if you connect a device where the batteries cannot supply enough.

It is also possible to monitor your system including the generator remotely. You can then see how full the tank is, how long it runs and the capacity it adds to your system.

A generator makes your system hybrid. This means that the generator runs briefly to top up your batteries, so you can use it for a few days again. Depending on your wishes, it is necessary to view the capacities of the generator, charging equipment, batteries and cables.
